Tecnam P92 ES on the way! 12/12/2011
A Tecnam P92 Echo Super was acquired by Chris today, and should be here as soon as he can log a little transition time at Chesapeake Sport Pilot (W29) where he purchased the aircraft. We're sure he's looking forward to going near twice as fast as he does in his Aeronca!
Pilot Controlled Lighting Comes to DE17, 10/27/2011
The unit to the right has been ordered to control our runway lights, and will be installed soon. Use our regular frequency and 5 clicks. The lights will stay on for 15 minutes, flashing the last minute to alert you they are getting ready to power down. The specs state the range to be up to 10 miles out. Look for the following entry to be added to the home page, after the unit is installed and tested:
ACTVT LIRL RY 3/21 - 122.750, 5 CLICKS
Rans S-6ES Addition, June 30, 2011
The new addition to the DE17 family is a beautiful Rans S-6ES which arrived a couple of weeks back. Tony's new Rotax powered taildragger flies great, according to the new owner, who, by the way, received his tailwheel endorsement today to join that unique group of pilots. Congratulations Tony!
Fly-in BBQ, May 14, 2011
The event seemed to be a success despite unkind weather conditions. Between the showers and wind, a couple of aircraft snuck in, the most notable being LifeNet 6-4’s BK117A3 from GED. The arrival and departure of this air medical transport unit, along with the aircraft being open to our guests, was by far the highlight of the day.
A Rans S-6 visited from CGE, and our own C152 was airborne doing demo rides. Other than that, aviation activity was nonexistent due to the weather. Even so, there was plenty of food and hangar talk to go around, and everyone stayed most of the day.
Thanks to all who contributed and helped with the event! I know we’re all hoping for better weather next year!
